CrossPoint Church began with a desire to return to the essence of church life by reexamining the first century Church as explained in the book of Acts. The first century church was simplistic. Its focus was on meeting the needs of the people. Christians lived in close communities: they were undistracted in their generous giving, devotedness to prayer, the reading and preaching of the Word of God, and singing to God.

The Reasons We Started this Local Church
  • God has always used the local churches to make disciples and thus participate in the Great Commission.
  • CrossPoint believes that the Church needs to continually plant churches.
  • At times, as churches grow, churches become more about “the brand” and the programs instead of focusing on the people. CrossPoint desires to keep the Church—thus the people—the focus.
  • Church planting—done well—continues to follow God's New Testament’s plan of expanding His kingdom.
  • Smaller churches usually do more evangelizing and outreach than established churches. They are focused on the community around them instead of focusing exclusively inside their four walls.
  • Smaller churches often times are more effective at reaching the saved “unchurched” who have been turned off by “organized” church. Smaller churches appeal to many.
  • Denominations are crumbling; while there are numerous church buildings, many denominations are not holding to biblical truth.
  • New people are usually “plugged in” quicker. Volunteers are counted and generally love to “step-up” and work in the ministry.
  • Smaller flocks are easier to shepherd.
  • Church plants have lower overhead than large churches.
The Means by Which We Accomplish Our Mission and Purpose
  • We use The Book Acts as a first guide and framework for church government, attention, and actions.
  • Evangelism and Discipleship will be in our DNA. We will talk about it; develop it; make it the priority in all of our ministries and expenditures.
  • CrossPoint will be a place where we learn to plant churches. We hope to reproduce.
  • CrossPoint will partner with other ministries who plant churches.
